Beginning in the early 1990s with their bingo clubs, Gala was quick to get into online gaming when it first became available. Gala Spins is a newer property but has the long experience of the Gala brand and Ladbrokes behind it. Is this virtual slots parlour worth stopping by for a few spins? We'll take a close look at it in today's post.
Available Games and Software
As the name might indicate, Gala Spins focuses heavily on the slots. In fact, it's just that, some scratchcards and about 10 variants of Slingo. However, what Gala Spins lacks in total game count it somewhat makes up for in exclusive titles and progressive jackpot options.
The slots collection consists of about 100 games. It's a relatively small collection as UK online casinos go, but it has some big names such as multiple Monopoly titles and the popular Starburst. It also boasts a nice assortment of exclusive titles:
- Gala Spins
- Big Banker Slot
- The Greatest Train Robbery
- Regal Jewels
- Laser Lock
- Rainbow Chameleons
- Rainbow Rewards
- Rainbow Repeater
- Mega Pyramid
- Banks of Gold
- The Magician: Mystical Riches
- Well Well Well
- Double Fizz
- Chilli Fiesta
- Cake Off
- Charms of the Emerald Girl
- Multro Polis
- 7 Super Gold
- Money Multiplier
- Drop The Mornin'
There are 15 progressive jackpot titles in total, which is a good amount - but they all appear to be IGT games linked to the same jackpot. So there is effectively one progressive at the property. And there is a section of about 15 slots labeled as "prize games"; the distinction isn't immediately clear, but these appear to be of the non-traditional "thousands of ways to win" variety. They differ from typical reel-based video slots a bit but are typically not very different in terms of overall payback percentage.
Is that all there is, my friends? Well, if you enjoy Slingo, there are about 10 varieties including Britain's Got Talent and X Factor. And there are a handful of scratch cards, although they are buried amidst the slot selection for some reason.
Deposit and Withdrawal Options
Gala Spins supports just about all of the major payment methods: Visa, MasterCard / Maestro, Skrill, PayPal, Neteller, Paysafecard and Apple Pay.
Unfortunately, the FAQ that contains the withdrawal and deposit limit terms is a broken link at the moment. We can tell you that there does appear to be at least a £5 minimum deposit with any given payment method, and an older version of the FAQ (from mid-2018) indicates that there is a minimum withdrawal of only £0.01 for all payment methods.
Safety and Security
Gala Spins is based in Gibraltar and is overseen by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner and the United Kingdom Gambling Commission. The third-party testing services that verify their games are GLI Europe BV, a well-known testing agency, and SQS India Info systems PVT Ltd., which is not as well-known. Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode are available for payment transactions.
As longtime gamblers may already know, Gala was acquired by Ladbrokes some years ago. Gala Spins is under the umbrella of Ladbrokes Coral Group, so it's being run by one of the UK's biggest gaming names.
Bonuses and Player's Club
Gala Spins currently has among the more favourable terms for a welcome offer in the UK online gaming scene. It's a small offer, but the wagering requirement is easy to meet with a good possibility for retaining some winnings.
The current welcome offer is a 200% match up to £10 (so £20 of free play total) plus 30 spins at The Goonies slot. The bonus funds have a wagering requirement of £20, and given the small amount that part of it is not a tremendous deal (though still better than the 30x-50x wagering requirements that are more standard at other properties). The free spins only have a 10x wagering requirement on any winnings, however, so there is a much better opportunity there to actually walk away with some real money with only a £10 initial deposit.
Gala Spins rotates their ongoing promotions fairly often, so there is not much point in documenting them here. They usually have at least three or four interesting offers going on, however. One that is locked in until 2024 is the GS Slingo Rainbow Riches promotion, which offers £10 in cash back when playing at that game if the player meets the qualifying terms.
Another ongoing promotion is the Mission Possible vault game, available each day between 3 PM and midnight. This game simply has you meet certain goals, like a deposit amount or playing a certain amount at a certain game. When you meet three goals, you get to pop open the vault and receive a mystery prize from it.
Is Gala Spins Worth It?
Gala Spins is a secure place to play with a good user interface and lots of regular promos. The game selection is on the small side, but there are a lot of unique offerings. Just come expecting nothing more than slots, Slingo and the occasional scratcher and you'll have a good time.
